ENDO Presenter Instructions

The instructions below apply to those giving non-poster presentations.

General Information (All Presenters)

  • Sessions will take place Saturday, June 1-Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
  • It will not be possible to present remotely during ENDO 2024. If you are not able to attend in person, please select a co-author to register for ENDO and present in your place. 
  • All presenters must be registered for the ENDO 2024 meeting. 
  • Presenting authors must arrive 15 minutes before the start of their session and stay for the duration of the session.
  • Your presentation day and location will be listed in the ENDO 2024 Meeting App and online in the ENDO 2024 Online Planner.

Oral Presentation (Abstract) 

Abstract Oral Presentation Specifics

  • Please share your abstract results with your co-authors. (Note: There has been a change in our policy and co-authors will not be receiving an abstract result notification.)
  • You will give a 10-minute presentation using slides (no more than ten slides) to summarize your abstract followed by a brief 3–5-minute Q&A session. Animations are acceptable.
  • Polling is not offered for this presentation type.
  • Abstracts will be published as an online supplement in the Journal of the Endocrine Society (JES) and indexed for DOI.
  • ENDO 2024 has partnered with American Journal Experts to offer a full range of language editing, academic translation, and figure services. Endocrine Society members receive 10% off this service.

Abstract Withdrawal Policy

  • No changes to session or presentation date/time can be made, and no exceptions can be honored at this time.
  • If for some reason the primary is unable to present their abstract, a co-author on the abstract may present in their place.
  • If no author is able to present or the submitting author wishes to withdraw their abstract submission, submit a request for your abstract to be withdrawn on the ENDO Presenter Portal.
  • You may withdraw your abstract until Friday, May 24th to guarantee that your submission will be removed from annual meeting materials before the meeting begins.
  • Abstracts withdrawn after this date may not be removed from annual meeting printed and/or electronic publications until after ENDO 2024.

Abstract Embargo Policy

  • Unless otherwise noted, all abstracts presented at ENDO must not be released to the press or the public until the date and time of presentation.
  • For oral presentations, the abstracts are embargoed until the session begins.
  • Abstracts presented at a news conference are embargoed until the date and time of the news conference.
  • The Endocrine Society reserves the right to lift the embargo on specific abstracts that are selected for promotion prior to or during ENDO.

All Other Presentation Details

  • Plenary, Symposium, Debate, Master Clinician, Oral Abstract, and Professional Development Workshop sessions will be moderated by the session chair. Meet the Professor/Scientist/Editor and Year-In sessions will not have a chair/moderator.

Education Session Format Timing

The times below reflect average sessions. Exact timing for specific sessions may vary.

Symposium 
  • 90 minutes – 3-4 speakers and chair
  • 3 speakers = 25 minutes/speaker
  • 4 speakers = 20 minutes/speaker
  • Q&A = 12-15 minutes 
Debate
  • 90 minutes – 2 speakers and moderator
  • Introduction = 2 minutes
  • Speaker 1 = 25 minutes
  • Speaker 2 = 25 minutes
  • Rebuttals = 10 minutes/speaker
  • Q&A = 18 minutes
Meet the Professor (MTP) 
  • 45 minutes, including Q&A 
Meet the Scientist (MTS) 
  • 45 minutes, including Q&A 
Master Clinician 
  • 45 minutes - 2 speakers
Year-In 
  • 45 minutes - 1-2 speakers 
 

Before the Meeting

  • Those presenting PowerPoint presentations are required to submit their presentations before the meeting.  Submission instructions will be provided in April 2024. 
  • Remember to download the official ENDO 2024 PowerPoint Templates via the links below for use in building your presentation. If you do not use the ENDO 2024 Templates, please prepare your PowerPoint slides in a 16x9 format, so it can accommodate all event technology platforms for all delivery methods. Any videos or special fonts must be embedded in your presentation slides. Please bring a backup copy of your presentation and any other materials, such as video clips, with you on a USB, to the Speaker Ready Room, placing all materials in a folder marked “ENDO 2024.”
  • When presenting, your Disclosure information will display before your presentation begins. Please make sure to update your Disclosure information via your ENDO Faculty Portal to include a disclosure slide in your presentation, if desired.
  • After May 24, presenters must edit their disclosures on-site in the Speaker Ready Room. Presenters will be able to edit their disclosures onsite in the Speaker Ready Room.

Pre-Upload Slides

Presentation slides should be uploaded by May 24, 2024. If not uploaded by this date, presenters will need to visit the Speaker Ready Room (Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC): Room 252AB) to upload their slides at least 24 hours before their scheduled session time.

Note: The password is case-sensitive and must be entered as displayed above. Once logged in, you will be able to modify your password, if desired. If you require assistance to log in, please check the Help link located in the top right corner of the log-in page. 

At the Meeting

  • It is imperative that you visit the Speaker Ready Room at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled presentation time.  This will allow enough time to review your presentation, test any polls included in your presentation, and familiarize yourself with the computer equipment and presentation software being used in the Speaker Ready Room and session room. You must do this even if you uploaded your presentation in advance.
  • Endocrine Society staff and A/V technicians will be available in the Speaker Ready Room to help resolve any compatibility or formatting issues, and to explain the in-room setup.

Standard Meeting Room Set-up

  • PLEASE ARRIVE AT YOUR SESSION MEETING ROOM AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF YOUR SESSION. 
  • Each room will set-up with our standard speaker package consisting of: 
    • One podium
    • One laptop
    • One microphone
    • One LCD projector and screen
    • Head table with two microphones and four chairs

Instructions for Session Presenters Using PowerPoint

  • Located in front of the lectern is a monitor where you can follow along with your presentation. Using the mouse, simply click your name on the display, then click on the “Start” button. Your PowerPoint presentation will launch automatically. Your Disclosure information will be displayed for 5 seconds before your presentation slides appear. Please wait for disclosures to finish displaying before clicking further. Slides will be in presenter view with notes and next slides appearing on the laptop and slides appearing on the screen.
  • If you have any difficulties or need any assistance, click the HELP button and a technician will be immediately sent to your room. 
  • At the end of your presentation, advance one final time and the display will return to the list of presenters in that session.
